BORDERLIGHT
Photographic series // Kyotographie exhibition

Borderlight is a photographic series exploring twilight — the liminal moment when day gradually gives way to night. Echoing the work of Todd Hido, the series favors suggestion over direct narration, depicting silent architectures, emerging artificial lights, and atmospheres charged with emotional tension. Light becomes a narrative tool, revealing spaces at the threshold between the real and the intimate, where the absence of human presence heightens a sense of solitude. The series is presented in the form of a magazine, bringing my images into dialogue with photographic research drawn from Todd Hido’s work, creating visual resonance and exchange. One photograph from Borderlight was selected for exhibition at Kyotographie 2023, as part of the exhibition centered on the theme Border.
